Accessibility statement

Last reviewed: 24 August 2026. Focus Training Centre wants its public pages and Training Core Lab service to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, magnification, speech input or altered colour and text settings.

Accessibility target and compliance status

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The service is currently partially compliant because the complete independent audit and remediation programme has not yet finished. We will not describe the service as fully compliant until representative public, administrative and learner journeys have been tested and outstanding issues resolved.

What users should be able to do

• Navigate primary pages and forms using a keyboard without a mouse.
• See a visible focus indicator and bypass repeated navigation using the skip link.
• Zoom browser content to 200% without losing essential tasks or information.
• Use labelled form fields, meaningful headings, descriptive buttons and understandable validation messages.
• Use responsive tables and layouts at smaller viewport widths.
• Use numeric position and size controls as alternatives to pointer dragging in card and diploma design.
• Pause and review actions before irreversible operations.

Design and technical measures

• Semantic headings, landmarks, labels and native controls are preferred.
• Colour is not intended to be the only way status or meaning is communicated.
• Interface colours target AA contrast; focus, error and status treatments receive separate checks.
• Responsive layouts support text enlargement and reflow.
• Images used as meaningful content should have alternatives; decorative images use empty alternative text.
• Keyboard controls supplement drag, resize, layer-ordering and alignment operations in visual studios.
• Public validation pages are deliberately simple and do not require sign-in.

Known limitations

• The Card Studio and Diploma Studio are visually complex. Multi-selection, drag/resize, smart guides, layer management, pan/zoom and crop controls require additional screen-reader and switch-device testing.
• Some dense operational tables may require horizontal scrolling at narrow widths.
• Older uploaded PDFs, scans or images may not have accessible text or complete descriptions.
• Generated card artwork is inherently visual; the underlying learner and credential data remains available through accessible operational records and public verification.
• Third-party browser print dialogs, PDF viewers, mail clients and printer utilities are outside Training Core Lab’s direct control.
• Some status updates may not yet be announced consistently by every screen reader.

Testing approach

Pre-launch testing includes automated scans, keyboard-only journeys, focus order, 200% and 400% zoom/reflow checks where applicable, contrast inspection, form/error review and testing with representative screen readers. Priority journeys include sign-in, student creation, enrolment, assessment, finance, session attendance, Help search, AI chat, card/diploma proof and public verification.

Alternative access and feedback

If you cannot access information or complete a task, email info@focustrainingcentre.co.uk. Include the page or task, what went wrong, your browser/device and any assistive technology used. Do not include passwords or unnecessary personal information. We will acknowledge the issue, offer a reasonable alternative where possible and prioritise remediation according to impact.

Preparation and review

This statement was prepared for the pre-launch service and will be updated after the independent accessibility review, after material interface changes, and at least annually. If public-sector accessibility regulations apply to a specific deployment, its organisation-specific statement and enforcement information will be added before launch.
